Social Media for Clubs Case Study: Karratha Bowling Club

In this social media case study, we look at what we achieved for Karratha Bowling Club.

The Karratha Bowling Club is a vibrant community in the Pilbara that offers lawn bowls, social events, and a welcoming atmosphere. It is a special place where locals connect through sport and camaraderie.

Why Page Access Matters

It’s not uncommon for businesses and clubs to lose access to their Facebook pages—often due to changes in administrators, forgotten login details, or closed email accounts. This can result in duplicate pages, which dilute online visibility and spread engagement across outdated or inactive profiles. Older pages can rank higher in search, meaning audiences may find incorrect information first.

The Brief

Maria Anderson, the owner of Sustainable Marketing Services was engaged by Karratha Bowling Club Secretary, Luke Garbutt, to help raise awareness of the Club through social media.

The scope included strategic advice to strengthen their social media presence, improve awareness through effective social media use, and recover and merge two previously lost Facebook pages.

Example of social media marketing

Marketing Activities at a Glance

  1. Social Media Advice: Advice on how to increase awareness of their sport through increased reach and brand consistency, and how to protect their social media assets.
  2. Content Implementation: Creating content on their new page to encourage people to enjoy a night of social bowling, and on one of the reclaimed pages to encourage people to like their new page.
  3. Facebook Page Recovery: Working with Meta to recover lost pages and merge lost pages into current page.

The Results

We successfully reclaimed three lost pages and merged two of these pages with Karratha Bowling Club’s current page, increasing their followers from 21 to 561. A larger fanbase helps boost reach, grow awareness, and ultimately drive better results. This project supports the Club’s social media goals by consolidating its online presence—expanding its audience while eliminating duplicate profiles that may cause confusion.

Testimonial

Absolutely brilliant Service from Maria. Helped our Bowling Club to merge Facebook pages. Told us what was needed and how it had to be done and did it for a great price. Kept us informed the whole way. Highly recommend!
